Brett & Brynn Proposal – San Juan Capistrano

Brynn and Brett met 4 years ago at a local watering hole in Newport. They actually never kept in contact after that, but they saw each other through social media and had their our own relationships during those 4 years. This past summer they randomly ran into each other again and decided to have their first date. This winter they went on a family trip with her family to Breckenridge where Brett asked her parents permission to marry their daughter. Little did she know Brett had purchased her a ring on December 8 (two months before the proposal) and was having it custom made. Brett created a video telling her it was of their trip to Colorado. But after the first half, it showed how he went about getting the ring. At the end It showed some photos of the ring and said “theres only one thing left to do” Thats when he dropped down on one knee and the rest is history. Brett contacted me looking for a great location for his proposal. After showing him a view options he picked this location. Through the use of technology and a driving video guiding him to the exact spot he never had to visit the location before the proposal. Drew & Stephanie’s Proposal – Crystal Cove

Drew and Stephanie both went to school in DC but Stephanie only stayed for her freshman year. She moved back to California and Drew stayed and graduated there. Drew then moved back to Texas while Stephanie was still in California. Then 7 years later from their freshman year they both moved back to DC within a month of each other unbeknownst to both of them and within a week of them being back in DC they ran into each and went on our first date a week later. Drew decided on their trip back to Orange County that he would pop the question. He contacted me and through the use of technology we planned his proposal without him every being at the location. She definitely said YES and was so surprised and excited to learn that I was secretly photographing the whole experience. Proposals are one of my favorite things to photograph because there are so many raw emotions which make for awesome candid story telling images.
